The Process

The Process

We understand selling your funeral home can be an emotional decision. We commend you for taking the steps to learn this process and we appreciate your allowing us the opportunity to learn more about your firm.

Some owners prefer to work with a broker that will contact us. They typically evaluate the business for you and they typically charge a percentage of the sale price. The broker will advise and guide you through the process just as we will do if you choose to contact us first. We are glad to work with your broker if you choose that path.

If you contact us directly, together we can determine a purchase price or together we may want to hire an independent evaluator to determine the price.
Another way is to provide us with all necessary documents so we may evaluate the business and make an offer to you. We do not charge a percentage of the sale price for this evaluation.

In either case, we will sign and provide to you a Non-disclosure Agreement (an assurance of confidentiality). We will then provide you with a list of items that we will need to make an offer to you. Once both parties agree, we will send to you a non-binding Letter of Intent, spelling out the agreed upon purchase price, terms and specifying a date of closing. It sounds simple and it truly can be, but there's always questions, negotiations and timing issues. We pride ourselves in having all the people in place to speed along the process.
